Today, I accepted an offer to be the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Gilman Greyhounds football team and the privilege of being a part of an enduring football legacy.
The historic Gilman School (Baltimore, MD) is a prestigious academic institution and the home of a nationally ranked football powerhouse with 25 MSA and MIAA Championships. Gilman has produced several Governors, Members of Congress, business leaders, acclaimed artists, and professional athletes. Gilman is regarded as the school for students to “get a Harvard education and play Alabama football.” Several years ago, I drove by the campus of the Gilman School and told myself, “I am going to coach football there someday.”
That “someday” is today. *Make “someday” today.* This is my dream job at the high school level. I made it, but I am just getting started!
Thanks to Gilman Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Tim Holley for his confidence. Thanks to my Baylor Football coaches and teammates, especially Coach Gerald Carr, who, among other esteemed mentors and colleagues, went to bat on my behalf.
*Make “someday” today.* Go Greyhounds. As always, Sic ‘em Bears. In all things, Praise the Lord. <><
