Friends, Athletes, Clients, and Colleagues:
Merry (Twelfth Day of) Christmas and Happy New Year. I had a very exciting, eventful, and memorable 2017 living out my God-given calling to forge men and women of honor and forge championship-caliber athletes as the Head Football Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Gilman School (Baltimore, MD), as the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Mariner Swim Club (Baltimore, MD), and as the owner of my own S&C business PT Strength, LLC.
This has been the most successful year ever on the field for my teams. In my first year at Gilman and my eighth year overall as a coach, Gilman Football was the State Runner Up in Maryland’s top private school classification, the nationally recognized MIAA A Conference. The pundits thought were we were going to finish second to last in the preseason, but we made it to the championship game. We also won the Gilman-McDonogh Trophy to close the regular season against our esteemed rivals, the McDonogh School. Gilman-McDonogh is Maryland’s high school equivalent of the Harvard-Yale Game and it was a thrilling experience.
Club level swimming is the most competitive level in Maryland and we, the Mariners, have a state champion female swimmer and many others who have made significant gains throughout the year. It is a joy to see my swimmers compete, improve, and have fun.
Finally, I had the privilege to train many of you and your kin at PT Strength. A healthy, productive time was had by all. Certainly one of the highlights for me in my private business was to train a U.S. Representative’s then-fiancé for her wedding and then do double-duty as her official wedding photographer. (I am still in the photography business, in case you are wondering!)
Most importantly, we got the opportunity to share life and make memories as I teach strength – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual strength. Thank you.
I am asking for three quick favors.
1. Please “like” both of my Facebook business pages “Phil Tran” and “PT Strength, LLC”. “Phil Tran” is my main hub for my speaking and consulting business and I will share inspirational thoughts, leadership lessons, and the more arcane and technical football coaching strategies and philosophies. “PT Strength, LLC” is strictly for strength and conditioning. Get your free research-based tips for stronger living here! I will be blogging more in the new year. I am also on the early stages of writing a book. Stay tuned.
2. Book me for a strength and conditioning / personal training session today! We will follow up for a consultation, handle the quick paperwork for the rookies, outline the rates, and get you started with your individualized workout program. Training can be done in my NCAA Division I caliber facility located south of Baltimore, via video conferencing, or by house call.
3. Tell your friends and family about my business! I may be busy, but I will always make time for referrals.

Lastly, enjoy the enclosed Christmas card below the signature. I told one of my old college football coaches for whom I am grateful that I am paying it forward in the lives of these men and women.
