Hello. Phil Tran here. I am honored to announce that the National Strength and Conditioning Association has removed my interim status and has appointed me to a full three year term as NSCA Maryland State Director!
I spent the last 13 and a half months as the Interim Maryland State Director for the NSCA. During that time, I hosted two NSCA coaching clinics. The latest one broke the NSCA record for most ever registrants and attendees for a Maryland State Clinic and it was not even a recertification year. I appointed two extraordinary ladies to the NSCA Maryland State Advisory Board. I collaborated with football coaches and athletic trainers to successfully lobby against two job-killing bills introduced in the Maryland General Assembly in the 2018 and 2019 legislative sessions that would have banned youth tackle football and heavily regulated it out of existence.
I am now back for three more years! Many thanks go to my Board members Kelley Crowe, Mary Clare McFadden, Andrea Eisgruber, Keith McKelphin, Larry Harris, and John Philbin who all make me look good. This is not just an appointment of a State Director for a full term. This is an appointment of an entire team.
I am excited to work on a number of projects over the next three years with my Board to advocate for and advance the strength and conditioning profession in Maryland. We will be in touch. Thank you.
