I am thrilled to announce that I signed on recently to be an Assistant Coach for the Girls’ Varsity Ice Hockey team at Archbishop Spalding High School. This role will be in addition to my existing Varsity Football duties.
Fun fact is that I played a little ice hockey growing up in the great State of Texas. Goaltending is my specialty and in a team with just one goalie, playing scout team goalie in practice is one of my coaching duties!
Hockey is my second favorite sport following very closely behind football and coaching girls is as strong a passion of mine as coaching football. I said to myself a few years ago that I will coach girls’ high school hockey someday. Make “someday” today! I am excited to teach this great game and grow interest in hockey among female athletes. It is game day!
We play Monday night on the road at 5:40pm at Ice World and on Friday Night on home ice at 9:20pm at Piney Orchard Ice Arena for Senior Night. I am told that there is a Friday Night Lights atmosphere at Archbishop Spalding with high school hockey.
